All blockchains need to be protected in some way. Proof of Work tends to become centralized into mining pools. Proof of Stake tends to become centralized in the hands of the wealthy. In an effort to reduce the risk of centralization, we created a new consensus algorithm called Proof of Participation (PoP). As Roberto (Founder & CEO) and Barton (Co-founder and CTO) explain in this video, the goal is to equally distribute rewards to all people who are actively participating in the network. By increasing decentralization, we will achieve increased security.
There is already a PoP algorithm that is used in other failed projects. POS variety. But, here the same name, but quite a different in essence algorithm. Two identical names of very different things?
Can you give us a link to the other project? We searched for this name before committing to it for our algorithm but didn't find much. I would be very interested to learn their approach and how it compares with ours.

I've reviewed the tech you linked, and I can say it is not related or even similar to the algorithm we have called Proof of Participation. Our algorithm (described in mild detail in the White Paper draft) is not used by any other blockchain.
I think we can afford to keep the name for now. Like domain names, virtually every combination of "proof of" words is taken lol. I have confidence that ours will become the known one over this project.
